Nigeria is to create an Innovation and Technology Advisory Council to harness and support the creativity and innovative ingenuity of young Nigerians and drive the growth of the sector in the country. Why CBN Set Limit For USSD Transaction On Mobile Devices

From 1 June, the maximum everyday transactions for mobile Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) in Nigeria will become N100,000 ($276).

USSD works with GSM network that helps it communicate with a service provider’s platform is considered cost-effective, more user-friendly, faster in concluding transactions, and handset agnostic. Hawk-Eye: The New Must Have Crime Reporting App For Nigeria Police

The Nigeria Police and technology firms have collaborated to create and deploy inventive versatile app, called Hawk-Eye, designed to curb insecurity the nation over.

Hawk-Eye is a portable app that will enable clients to report crimes anonymously to the police by video, voice or content. It was developed by a Lagos based tech firm, Web Assets Nigeria Limited, in partnership with United States based tech firms, BBGN&K and Microsoft. Social Media History As A New Requirement For US Visa

The United States government is proposing to collect social media identities from nearly everyone who seeks US Visa, according to a new State Department filing.

The proposal which is a broad expansion of the information gathered from applicants for U.S. visas, if approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), would require most immigrant and non-immigrant visa applicants to list all social media identities they have used in the past five years.
